Children enrolled in school

Children enrolled in school can’t attend an early learning service

Children enrolled in school can’t attend an early learning service. This applies during school terms and in the school holidays.

There are 2 exceptions:

Children enrolled in school can be present for short periods

Children enrolled in school can be present at an early learning service for short periods for a specific purpose, as long as they are supervised by an adult who is directly responsible for them. For example:

  • dropping off or collecting a younger sibling with a parent, or
  • attending an event with family or teachers, such as watching a performance.

Children under 6 who have had their school enrolment cancelled

Children under the age of 6 can return to their early learning service if their school enrolment has been cancelled.
